Many people think that body image is only about how a person looks.
It’s actually more than that! Body image is the way a person thinks and feels about their body, including the way they look. Body image:
• Can be positive – being accepting of, and confident and happy with, one’s body, shape, and size. • Can be negative – being dissatisfied with, or disliking one’s body, which may cause shame, low self-esteem, or distress – known as body dissatisfaction. • Or can be a little bit positive and a little bit negative. why is it important for my child to be confident about their body?
