|
Understanding your own attitudes about the body may help you to create an environment in which your child develops a positive relationship with their body, food, and eating.
Reflect on how often you do each of the following:
1 Never - 2 Rarely - 3 Occasionally - 4 Frequently - 5 Daily
HOW OFTEN DO YOU...?

HOW OFTEN DO YOU...?
For the above, if you selected "Rarely" or Never", being critical of others may be something you struggle with. This can be unhelpful and possibly harmful. Fostering an attitude of acceptance can lead to more positive self-esteem and relationship with your body, food, and other people.
For those you selected "Daily or "Frequently," keep it up! Regularly expressing a sense of appreciation and acceptance of both yourself and others can positively influence your sense of wellbeing and make you a great role model for family and friends.

HOW OFTEN DO YOU...?
For the above, if you selected "Daily" or "Frequently," you may need to aim to become more aware of the words and language you use around your child and try to focus on positive attributes unrelated to your, or other’s, weight or body shape.
For the questions you selected "Never" or "Rarely," you’re on the right track. Keep using positive or neutral language around body shape and food and you’ll be a great influence on those around you.
